Dear People,

Just thought I would let people know that I am no longer on in internet as such.  I have removed my ethernet cables and given them to a friend to look after until thursday of 8th week.

Anyway, so I will be checking emails etc every so often throughout the day.

I was wondering... I have exams next week (monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday) and then my last two are a week later (wednesday and thursday of 8th week) so i was wondering if anyone was up for maybe a quick drinky poohs on thursday of 7th (two thirds the way through... yay!).

Time for tea!!!!

I found something truly disgusting today in queens lane.  I have kept it within the LJ cut because I don't want to freak people out.  Please choose not to click on the cut:

Some sick bastards out there

(EDIT: the "Jeremy" in this post refers to, the one and only, Mr. Jeremy Zheng)

You are lost in the middle of a scary forest.

You have your belongings of course, but you are forced to give them up one by one (due to certain circumstances associated with forests like mass genocide etc).

You have with you:

A torch
A pair of chopsticks
Fortune cookies
Jeremy
Some other random chinese crap
and a rabbit.

Which one would you give up last?

The meaning of each answer will be revealed in another post soon...

I trust that most of you have read Jeremy's most recent post.

Go here if not:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6243323.stm

Anyway, my point is that I want to do something about it. I don't know how all this political nonsense works. I have heard of stuff like 'lobbying' and 'petition' but I don't really understand it all so I need help! We should have a big group and march on to westminster or something! So if people know more stuff about how this works etc then please let me know.

Maybe I/we should contact the LGBsoc to gain more support?

I don't want religious crap ruling this country!

From my nation (Alphatron) on nation states (which has UN category of "Democratic Socialists" by the way :D):

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The United Socialist States of Alphatron is a huge, socially progressive nation, notable for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate population of 401 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Healthcare, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 100%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Information Technology.

Citizens are frequently searched for illegal weapons, highschool principals regularly send armed truancy patrols to drag problem students to school, long arduous trials are held for the most trivial of offences, and mobile phone masts are being erected all over the country. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Alphatron's national animal is the rabbit, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the alpha."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Phrases I particularly like in this are "...strong anti-business politics." ; "...they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt." ; "Private enterprise is illegal..."

Ah all is well in my land

I was just looking at the materials department of MIT. It is rather silly. I clicked on the problem sets that they give out for certain lecture courses and found them to be VERY silly indeed! Go here to have a look yourself:

http://pruffle.mit.edu/~ccarter/3.21/problem_sets/hw8.pdf

http://pruffle.mit.edu/3.00/ProblemSets/ps_01.pdf

And the solution to the above one:

I am guessing that only the physicists among you will find this funny

Hello

I am still alive... well actually, barely. I have a horrid cold you see and it is horrid

The reason why I haven't updated in such a long time is because I have been uber busy with this horrid team design project.

But it will all be over with on Friday :-)

Here are the counties I have been to.

It's all vague though so it's not very accurate

I've visited the counties in yellow.
Which counties have you visited?

Is anyone going to the lgb ball in 6th week?

It actually sounds good. It's only £35 and you get a gourmet meal (whatever one of those are)and half a bottle of wine!

Is anyone else going?

From now on I shall post random quotes from the great and holy Bible!

For God! For he is great and handsome!

Random quote:

"So there was gathered much people together, who stopped all the fountains, and the brook that ran through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find much water?"

For fountains! For gatherings! for water!

Well, I do not know what to say.

I could say that is accurate or that is inaccurate but at the end of the day we are all deluded when it comes to looking at ourselves.

"Rabbit populations thrive as dogs are slaughtered in their millions, skateparks can be found in every city, parents live in fear of governmental 'child protection' squads, and female newsreaders distract the nation by breastfeeding during broadcast."

Good to see that things are finally going to plan :-)

Now Saturday night was a heap load of fun!

Alan wanted to meet up with a Brookes guy and so asked people out to cloud nine.

I had not seen Alan in at least ten years or so, so I was more than happy to go to cloud nine with him :D

So the plan was this: Alan would come to my room, We both drink lots of vodka, then go to meet Brookes guy, then go to Cloud nine.

I had recently fallen out with Jeremy and so I wasn't going to invite him originally. Anyway, that was sorted and so I asked Jeremy if he wanted to come out and play and he said yes! Then, Tim came! Then marc came! And we had a little party in my room!

It was really cool actually and I felt truly loved. Something which I haven't felt in such a long, long, long time.

We then went to Jolly Farmers and met Nik there.

Then onwards to Cloud Nine! Horray!

I was very drunk! Pulled a random minger :S

End of interesting story

Ok a lot has happened in my life since I last updated this oh wonderful LJ.

Actually, I will put each separate event into a separate entry so that it doesn't get too long and boring.

So the rest of this entry will be about what happened on Friday 29th September, the day I arrived back in Oxford, the land of my fathers :-)

I arrived at roughly 10ish

anyway, that is not important/interesting/sexy

A strange boy was wondering around my corridor in the very heart of my college. He asked for my assistance (because he was lost). When I got closer he said that he knows me! It was Dave Cochrane. He was looking for the MCR and his breath smelled of alcohol (this was at roughly midday). Anyway, that was a little random. But then I saw him later on again looking very lost...
